Contract Business Immigration Attorney
A sophisticated New York law firm is seeking an experienced Contract Business Immigration Attorney to provide immediate support to its immigration practice.

This is an urgent contract opportunity for an attorney with substantial hands-on experience handling business and employment-based immigration matters. The successful candidate will step into an active caseload and should be comfortable independently managing sophisticated immigration matters with minimal ramp-up time.

Responsibilities
The Contract Business Immigration Attorney will:
  • Manage business and employment-based immigration matters
  • Counsel clients regarding immigration strategies, compliance and related issues
  • Prepare, review and oversee immigration petitions, applications and supporting documentation
  • Handle matters involving employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories
  • Manage deadlines and active case requirements
  • Communicate with clients regarding case strategy, documentation and status
  • Conduct legal research and remain current on immigration regulations, policies and adjudication trends
  • Provide high-quality work product with limited supervision
Relevant Experience
Strong candidates should have substantive experience with matters such as:
  • H-1B visas
  • L-1 visas
  • E-2 visas
  • EB-1, EB-2 and EB-3 matters
  • PERM labor certification
  • Adjustment of status
  • Other employment-based immigration petitions and applications

Experience with EB-5 matters is also valuable.
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active attorney license and good standing
  • Significant experience practicing business/employment-based immigration law
  • Ability to independently manage immigration matters
  • Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills
  • Experience preparing and reviewing sophisticated immigration filings
  • Excellent client communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and deadline management
  • Ability to become productive quickly in a contract environment
  • Availability to begin an assignment promptly

This opportunity is best suited for an experienced immigration attorney who is highly comfortable with employment-based immigration, can take ownership of active matters and does not require extensive training or supervision.
