We currently have an excellent opportunity for a growing law firm for a Trust and Estates Paralegal in the Montvale, NJ area (zip code 07645).
Position responsibilities are:
Position responsibilities are:
- Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills and advance directives
- Prepare probate petitions, inventories, accountings, and Surrogate Court filings
- Oversee estate administration from asset marshaling through creditor claims and distributions
- Coordinate with financial institutions, accountants, and beneficiaries
- Prepare and file Federal Estate Tax Returns (Form 706), NY Estate Tax Returns (Form ET-706), and Gift Tax Returns (Form 709)
- Prepare and file New Jersey Inheritance Tax Returns and related waivers/forms (e.g., Form IT-R, IT-L-8, IT-L-9)
- Collaborate with accountants and tax professionals to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and trial binders related to contested estate, trust, and guardianship matters
- Manage case calendars, deadlines, and electronic court filings (state and federal courts)
- Provide trial support, including deposition prep, document organization, and exhibit management
- At least 5 years of experience in a law firm with Trust and Estates cases
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize work
