The Ideal Commercial Real Estate Paralegal

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Commercial Real Estate Paralegal who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can independently manage multiple transactions simultaneously. The successful Commercial Real Estate Paralegal will possess strong technical knowledge of title, survey, financing, and closing procedures involving New Jersey and New York commercial transactions.

Responsibilities of the Commercial Real Estate Paralegal
  • Manage and coordinate commercial real estate transactions from contract through closing.
  • Review title commitments, surveys, zoning reports, and environmental reports.
  • Prepare title and survey memoranda and draft title objection correspondence.
  • Prepare and review purchase and sale agreements, leases, loan documents, and closing checklists.
  • Coordinate directly with attorneys, lenders, title companies, surveyors, and clients throughout transactions.
  • Draft deeds, affidavits, transfer tax forms, UCC-1 financing statements, collateral descriptions, and escrow documents.
  • Resolve title objections and assist in obtaining final title policies and endorsements.
  • Track critical dates and ensure timely completion of all transaction milestones.
  • Handle multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining exceptional accuracy and professionalism.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and provide superior client service.

Requirements for a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal
  • 7+ years of commercial real estate paralegal experience within a law firm.
  • Strong knowledge of New Jersey and New York commercial real estate transactions.
  • Experience reviewing title commitments, surveys, title insurance policies, and endorsements.
  • Familiarity with ALTA endorsements and commercial loan transactions.
  • Knowledge of New Jersey bulk sale applications is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume workload.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
