Job Description
We currently have an opportunity for a Legal Assistant to support the transactional departments, including Trust & Estates and Elder Law, Corporate, and Commercial Real Estate groups of a growing law firm in the Hackensack, NJ area. This position will be responsible for carrying out administrative services, providing support to legal professionals by preparing various documents including correspondence, legal forms, and other types of documents, and providing information-management support to enhance attorney/timekeeper effectiveness. Position responsibilities are:
- Perform administrative duties, including responding to client inquiries, drafting documents, making copies, and answering and directing phone calls
- Produce information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, proofreading, editing, retrieving, copying, scanning and transmitting text, data, and graphics
- Prepare and process forms and standard legal documents and filings; collect and analyze information; initiate communications, organize client conferences and attorney meetings
- Review, scan and route correspondence, reports, and
- At least 3 years of related experience working in a law firm
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Adobe with strong Excel skills in particular
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize work and meet deadlines in a busy environment
