Hybrid Trust and Estates Paralegal

Job Description
- Collaborate with attorneys and other paralegals during all phases of estate and trust administration, including maintaining client files, and contact with clients, courts, financial planners, and accountants, to collect information necessary to complete reporting and filing requirements.
- Draft, read, and review trust and estate documents
- Review financial information received from clients, audit documents to correct errors, and draft schedules of assets and estate tax analysis.
- Prepare distribution documents including estate/trust accounting that may require calculation of fiduciary commissions, refunding bond and release forms and correspondence to accompany same.
- Prepare final estate planning letter and document binder which includes copies of executed estate planning documents.
- Handle special projects or additional responsibilities as they arise
- Record billable time daily.
Position requirements are:
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in Trust and Estates in a law firm environment.
- Demonstrated experience administering estates and preparing estate and inheritance tax returns utilizing tax return preparation software.
- Strong mathematical skills
- Highly detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as mathematical skills.
- Ability to thrive in a teamwork-oriented, deadline-driven, and extremely fast-paced environment.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Prior experience with Thomson Reuters, Fiduciary Practice Systems for preparation of estate tax returns and accountings a plus.
